Wage war on pollution!
Water Warriors is both a collaborative and competition-based board game where players ages 13+ battle against pollution in order to save the ocean.
Context: Graduate group project
Tools: Figma, Procreate, Laser Cutting, Painting
Timeline: 3 week sprint
Contributions: Art Director - color palette design, board and tile design, board and tile creation, assisting in Figma Deck design
Goal: Design for production - produce not only a creative idea but demonstrate design thinking to prepare a product for the real world.
Deliverable: Clear concept summary including audience and production path, production plan, prototype with estimated costs, timeline, and risks and solutions, and a final presentation deck.
Art Director Role
Team Workflow: Ensured a consistent color and design throughout the creation of the game. Delegated art aspects to fellow project members to ensure work was completed on time.
Color Palette: Create a palette that communicates an ocean setting, but it playful and colorful to appeal to a young audience and encapsulate the fun game aspect.
Font Guide: Find a font that is whimsical and fun to instill a sense of adventure and freedom. The font chosen is round, soft, and thick to accomplish this effect.
Tile Design: Designed simple graphics for the tiles to limit overwhelming imagery, but clearly communicate the purpose of each tile: clean water, plastic, oil, nuclear, and sewage.
Board Design: Simple board design that follows color palette and creates a water like appearance.
Figma Support: Ensure art scheme is Figma follows art aspects and support in alignment and layout of slides.
